TOP 3 REASONS TO VOTE NO ON CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 50

California voter protest against San Francisco Democrats over ballot issues, with a large sand art display reading "NO KINGS YES ON 50" and a warning about voting Yes.

Once again, the progressive communist democrats in San Francisco and Sacramento are trying to control California in perpetuity. And, we can look around and see how well the uni-party progressive communist democrats have governed our formerly Golden State.

1. It Suspends The Independent Non-Partisan Redistricting Commission

Under current law, California’s congressional district maps are drawn by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission (CCRC), which is designed to be bipartisan and non-partisan.

Proposition 50 would replace the CCRC maps with maps drawn by the Legislature from 2026 through 2030, then return to the commission after the 2030 census. This undermines what many see as a fair, independent process that was created by voters in 2008 and 2010 to reduce partisan gerrymandering. If you believe that maps should be drawn by a non-partisan commission rather than corrupt progressive communist democrats in California, vote “NO”.”

2. It Does Not Benefit the People, Only Progressive Communist Democrats

Proposition 50’s maps were drawn with input from Democrat consultants and are designed in ways that could help Democrats win up to five additional U.S. House seats in California.

Electoral maps should not be designed to benefit one party or used as a tactical tool in national politics; this is a red flag. A Democrat redrawing of congressional maps is not the model of responsible government Californians deserve.” In other words,  if you value the principle of fairness over party advantage, you might oppose the measure for appearing as a partisan maneuver.

3. Mid-cycle redistricting sets a problematic precedent

Redistricting happens every 10 years following the U.S. Census. Proposition 50 proposes the use of new maps now, ahead of 2030, as a “temporary” change.

Mid-cycle redistricting breaks the usual rhythm and could incentivize future redistricting for partisan gain rather than systemic fairness. Map-making should follow consistent, clear rules rather than ad hoc changes tied to political advantage; a strong reason to reject the proposition.

Bottom Line

We are being screwed.
