Politicians Demand Time Run Backwards — And No, It’s Not Just Daylight Savings

When Politicians Take Over Time

Just when you thought politics couldn’t get any stranger, some politicians are now demanding that time itself should run backward. Forget debates, filibusters, or budget proposals—apparently the newest legislative agenda is turning your clocks into a philosophical puzzle. Yes, it’s happening right alongside Daylight Savings Time this weekend (November 2nd, mark your calendars).

Back to the Future? More Like Back to Yesterday

In many U.S. jurisdictions, this weekend means one very important thing: set your clocks back one hour. But with politicians adding their own “interpretation” of time, who knows if you’ll actually arrive at work at 8 a.m. or 7 a.m., or if you’ll just show up at 8 p.m. confused and holding a coffee that tastes like regret. It’s basically political time travel—minus the cool DeLorean.

Confusion: The Official State Hobby

Imagine trying to explain to your boss that you’re late because Senator Johnson declared 9 a.m. illegal and replaced it with 8 a.m. You’d get a raise in confusion points for sure. And don’t even get started on the tech side—computers, phones, smartwatches—they all still follow regular time, while politicians apparently run on “political daylight savings.” Productivity? Optional.

One Hour Back, a Thousand Questions Forward

So, yes, this weekend we all get an extra hour of sleep—or panic, depending on your relationship with time. But remember, it’s not just about hitting snooze. It’s about questioning reality: why is one group of humans deciding how the universe should behave while the rest of us try to remember whether our microwave clock is ahead or behind?

Bottom Line: Moral of the Story

Set your clocks back one hour this Sunday, keep your coffee strong, and maybe keep an eye on politicians. Who knows? Next, they might want to cancel Tuesday or make Fridays mandatory nap days. But hey, at least time is funny… until you realize you’ve been late for everything that actually matters.

We are being screwed.
