UPDATE:  PARAMOUNT+ DECLINES TO RENEW TONY & ZIVA

According to industry pundits, the spin-off failed to convert the NCIS core audience of older viewers to Paramount+ streaming. A joint statement from the costars:

“We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva’s story,” said stars de Pablo and Weatherly, in a joint statement. “Our deepest thanks go to our extraordinary cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, and to our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ who helped make this dream a reality. But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after.”

As a longtime NCIS viewer, I thought I had seen it all — but NCIS: Tony & Ziva reminded me exactly why I fell in love with this spin-off series in the first place. From the very first scene, the reunion of Tony and Ziva is absolutely magical. The blend of nostalgia and excitement is palpable, and it feels like visiting a beloved place you never thought you’d return to.

Unmatched Chemistry

Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly share an undeniable chemistry that feels effortless. Ziva’s sharp, serious demeanor plays perfectly against Tony’s trademark snark, creating a dynamic that’s both witty and heartfelt. Every glance, every quip, every moment of tension between them feels earned — a true testament to the writers’ and actors’ mastery in bringing this beloved duo back to life.

High Stakes and Heart

This new NCIS series doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone. The stakes are high, the action is intense, and the emotional depth adds a layer of realism that makes you root for the characters in every episode. Watching Tony and Ziva navigate life, love, and parenthood with their trademark banter and unwavering loyalty reminded me of why they became such iconic characters in the first place.

The Premiere Episode

In the premiere episode, titled No Country Is Safe, Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David are living in Paris with their young daughter, Tali. When Tony’s security firm is attacked, the family is forced to go on the run across Europe, setting the stage for a globe-trotting adventure. Episodes 1, 2, and 3 (“No Country Is Safe,” “No Friend of Mine,” and “Cover Story”) were released on September 4, 2025, with subsequent episodes to be released weekly on Thursdays until the season finale on October 23, 2025.

Final Thoughts

For longtime fans like me, the old thrill is definitely back, while new viewers get a masterclass in character-driven storytelling. If you’ve ever wondered whether Tony and Ziva still have that spark, let me assure you: their chemistry is off the charts, and the magic is back. I highly recommend NCIS: Tony & Ziva — it’s a must-watch for any fan of the franchise.
