Now, in an attempt to discover the truth about the riotous events of January 6, 2021—events clouded by propaganda and buried under a much larger Democrat-led conspiracy to destroy Donald Trump—Republicans are finally forming a legally constituted committee to re-examine both what happened that day and the Democrats who played their part in the original farce of a Committee.
But should anyone be surprised that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries immediately moved to poison the well? His appointments to the new subcommittee are not meant to find facts, but to inject partisan venom, obstruct, and distort. By tapping Eric Swalwell—whose résumé includes endless #Resistance posturing, failed crusades against Trump, and questionable judgment—Jeffries has shown he isn’t remotely interested in truth. He is assembling an attack squad. Alongside Swalwell, Democrats Jasmine Crockett and Jared Moskowitz, both well-known Trump antagonists, guarantee that hearings will devolve into staged political theater rather than sober investigation.
And what of the evidence? Government documents related to January 6 were deliberately destroyed before Republicans assumed control of the House. That act alone is a crime, yet Democrats will claim it was “routine” or “insignificant.” How convenient that the trail is already compromised before the new Committee can even begin its work. Destruction of evidence is not an accident—it’s a calculated move to cripple accountability.
Expect witnesses to suddenly suffer from convenient memory loss or hide behind the Fifth Amendment to avoid perjury charges. Expect every criminal referral—legitimate requests for prosecution—to vanish into the Department of Justice’s black hole, never to be seen again. Democrats will bury them under bureaucracy, delay, and disinterest. Justice, once again, will be denied.
And then the hypocrisy: When Nancy Pelosi controlled the House, she barred Republican nominees she didn’t like, ensuring the original Jan. 6 Committee was nothing more than a one-sided show trial. Now Jeffries dares to stack the new committee with sworn Trump-haters while crying foul at Republican oversight.
Make no mistake—this is not about truth, justice, or democracy. It’s about the Democrats’ obsession with Trump and their desperation to rewrite history. Every move they make proves they fear what a real, unfiltered investigation might reveal.
