Every writer has that one friend who never lets them forget the joy of writing a happy blog post. For me, that’s Al. Whenever I get caught up in the noise of the world or the seriousness of daily life, Al is right there with his friendly reminder: “Don’t forget to write a happy post!”
It’s not that I avoid happiness — it’s that, like many of us, I sometimes get distracted. Deadlines, headlines, and to-do lists pile up, and before I know it, the lighthearted thoughts are pushed aside. That’s when Al steps in. He’s like a nudge, always trying to steer me toward the sunny side of the street.
The truth is, Al’s reminders aren’t just about blogging. They’re about perspective. He understands something many of us overlook: happiness multiplies when it’s shared. Writing a happy post isn’t simply filling space on a page — it’s planting seeds of joy that might brighten someone else’s day.
And isn’t that what makes writing worthwhile? Knowing that a story, a smile, or a moment of gratitude could ripple outward? I think that’s why Al keeps nudging me. He believes happiness deserves a voice. Or there is the darker explanation: does it to annoy me?
So this post is for Al — for the gentle nudges, the optimism, and the unwavering belief that there’s always something worth celebrating. Today, I’m writing something happy. And thanks to Al, maybe I’ll write another one in the near future as well.
Unfortunately, we are still screwed.
