WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE ISRAELI FRONTIER

Even in the shadow of imminent danger, the people of Israel remain unshaken—rooted in a history that stretches back thousands of years and tempered by trials that would have broken lesser nations. They have endured exile, persecution, and the cruelty of history’s harshest despots, yet they continue not only to survive but to build, innovate, and flourish. From ancient homelands to a modern state carved out of desert and adversity, they have transformed barren landscapes into thriving cities, fertile farmland, and centers of global innovation. Their resilience is not born of denial, but of memory, faith, and an unyielding belief that tomorrow can be stronger than today.

From Yedidya Harush, citizen, soldier, entrepreneur, and representative of his community…

Shalom friends, it’s uh 20 minutes before Shabbat here in Israel.

I’ve been getting a lot of emails and messages and phone calls regarding the situation and, um, you know, I’m overlooking, as I’m speaking to you, the Egyptian border on the Gaza border on the other side; and reminding ourselves that all throughout our history we were surrounded by enemies, always had those who didn’t want us here, and until, uh, it changes, it continues to be the same way.

But one thing always strengthened us is that we are one, and we’ve been through everything and we came out of everything, and came out of everything much stronger than we came into it, and that’s how it’s going to be this time.

So from Israel, I’m sending you strength and love and hope and promising you that everything is going to be okay, even when it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be okay. And remember, it’s going to be just awesome.

So, uh, Shabbat Shalom and looking forward to seeing you all. Am Yisrael Chai. (“The People of Israel Live.”)

And so, in every generation, when uncertainty looms and headlines predict despair, the spirit of Israel rises with quiet determination. It is a spirit forged in ancient promises and renewed each morning by families who plant, build, teach, and dream. The same hands that once coaxed life from arid soil now shape breakthroughs in science, culture, and community. Hope is not a slogan here—it is a discipline, practiced daily. As long as that resilience endures, so too will the light that has guided these people through centuries of challenge, shining forward with courage, purpose, and an unwavering belief in a brighter horizon.
