Democrat Response to State of the Union: Trust Us Again –The Affordability Fairy Is Back

Oh Good, The People Who Broke Everything Are Here To Fix It.

The Democrat response, delivered by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, a former CIA officer — if you can believe that there is such a thing as a “former” CIA officer, was a stark rebuke of President Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address, but it failed to match the urgency of the moment with the conviction and clarity American families deserve.

Her pitch is based on the spin-tested generic “affordability” theme that askes you to trust that they have a plan to making your existence more affordable” by reducing the costs of health care, energy, and housing; all of which they have corrupted with insane rules and regulations.

Manufactured Moderation

Once again, we are being asked by the progressive communist democrats to trust that they are the voice of moderation and are the solution to resolving the radical national corruption and disruption that they themselves caused.

To which I reply: bullshit!

Government Shutdown Gamesmanship

These are the toxic actors, to a person, who shut down the government to coerce the administration into renewing the subsidies for the unworkable and out-of-control “Affordable Care Act,” which, as everybody can plainly see, is unworkable.

Appeasement in an Unstable World

These are the toxic progressive communist democrat actors who pursue a path of appeasement when faced with grave national security threats.

Tax, Spend, Repeat

These are the “tax and spend” actors who use the taxpayer’s hard-earned taxes to purchase additional political power and line their pockets and those of their friends, albeit with the help of RINO (Republican In Name Only) fools who function more like democrats than Republicans.

The Affordability Mirage

Consider the rebuttal to President Trump’s 2026 State of the Union speech by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, a former CIA officer — if you can believe that there is such a thing as a “former” CIA officer.

Her pitch is based on the spin-tested generic “affordability” theme that asks you to trust that they have a plan to make your existence more affordable by reducing the costs of health care, energy, and housing — all of which they have corrupted with insane rules and regulations.

Identity Politics Over Economic Reality

Like progressive communist democrats, their solutions play into identity and class politics — proposals that increase costs for one group of individuals to benefit another group of individuals that they pronounce as more deserving. Consider healthcare proposals that ban insurers from charging one insured group higher premiums in one area and require the costs to be spread across all consumers.

Climate Policy or Cost Multiplier?

Consider the progressive communist democrat obsession with climate change that artificially penalizes fossil fuels while subsidizing unreliable power sources like wind and solar with massive subsidies that force utilities to pass along increased bills, remit higher taxes to the government, and leave consumers facing higher costs.

Housing Regulation Run Amok

Consider housing, and the progressive communist democrat lack of respect for private property as they force property owners to accept rent increases that do not cover the increased costs of maintenance and debt service, and lengthen the time it takes for landlords to evict squatters and renters who ignore rent altogether. Regulations that force developers to provide civic amenities or construct low-income housing in addition to their original housing plans.

Bottom Line: More Taxes, More Rules, More “Relief” — What Could Go Wrong?

If Democrats truly want to counter the narrative put forward in the speech and galvanize voters ahead of the 2026 midterms, they must move past polished talking points and offer a bold, optimistic vision that resonates with everyday struggles — one that defends economic security, protects civil liberties, and articulates a clear alternative to the discord and division of the Trump era — otherwise, this response will be remembered not as a turning point, but as a missed opportunity to speak to the urgent needs of the nation.

No matter which way progressive communist democrats turn, they can’t take their hands out of your pockets, rendering their affordability promises doubtful.

We are so screwed. And with the progressive communist democrats, screwed beyond comprehension and tolerance.
