The Outrageous Audacity of Being Lectured by Progressive Communist Democrats On ‘Affordability’

newsom-fail

When “Affordability” Becomes A Punchline.

Before anyone gets another condescending lecture about “affordability” from progressive communist democrats politicians like California’s Gavin Newsom, it’s worth stopping to look at the scoreboard. And the scoreboard isn’t just bad—it’s a full-blown catastrophe dressed up in flowery speeches and polished press releases. Somehow, the people presiding over spiraling costs and shrinking wallets have the nerve to talk down to the public as if they’ve mastered the art of economic salvation.

Spoiler: They haven’t.

Energy Costs: A Failure Dressed As Virtue

Energy prices have soared, and it’s not because the public suddenly started taking longer showers. It’s the direct result of policy decisions that choke supply, overregulate production, and punish traditional energy sources without offering realistic, affordable alternatives. Households are burning through their budgets just to keep the lights on, while politicians congratulate themselves for “leading on climate.”

Leading on climate or leading us off a cliff? Hard to tell.

Insurance Prices: Sky-High And Rising

Insurance markets are collapsing under the weight of reckless policies and ignored risk factors. Home insurance? If you can even get coverage, expect premiums that feel like extortion. Auto insurance? Up. Health insurance? Up. The only thing going down is your bank account.

Yet somehow, the politicians who helped create this mess continue insisting they’re on the side of working families. Funny way of showing it.

Housing Costs: A Crisis Manufactured In Plain Sight

If politicians spent as much time fixing housing as they do talking about it, we’d all be living comfortably by now. Instead, California and other progressive-led states have become ground zero for unaffordable housing. Decades of obstruction, suffocating regulations, NIMBYism disguised as virtue, and misplaced priorities have combined to produce the least affordable housing markets in the nation.

But yes, please—tell us more about “equity.”

Gasoline Prices: Another Self-Inflicted Disaster

Drivers face brutal gas prices thanks to layered taxes, boutique fuel blends, and anti-production policies. The government ramps up restrictions, then feigns shock when costs accelerate. And again, we’re expected to applaud the “progress.”

Progress toward what, exactly? Empty gas tanks?

Grocery Costs: A Punch To The Wallet Every Week

Every trip to the grocery store is now a reminder of broken leadership. Inflation isn’t an abstract talking point—it’s sitting in your cart and evaporating in real time. Eggs, milk, bread, meat—nothing escapes the upward spiral. Families don’t need lectures; they need relief.

Crime And Public Safety: A Failure Nobody Can Ignore

Communities are dealing with rising theft, car break-ins, and brazen criminal behavior while officials downplay or redefine crime to make themselves look better. People feel less safe, and they should—because the policies in place aren’t keeping them safe.

But yes, we’re still told they’ve “got this handled.”

Social Safety Net And Immigration: Collapsing Under Mismanagement

The social safety net is strained to the breaking point. Homelessness surges. Services lag. Immigration policy is a patchwork of chaos, leniency, and political posturing. The result? Overburdened communities, overstretched resources, and a public increasingly fed up with the disconnect between words and outcomes.

Bottom Line: So What Exactly Have the Progressive Communist Democrats Succeeded At?

Besides enriching themselves, expanding bureaucracy, adding more rules, demanding more taxes, and squeezing the people who actually work and contribute, what victories are these leaders celebrating?

Because from where most people stand, the scoreboard is nothing but failures dressed as achievements.

And the last thing anyone wants is another lecture from the people responsible for the mess.
