NYC Voters Chose Chaos & Crime: Can Curtis Sliwa Clean Up Where Politicians Failed?

Sliwa

It seems the legal residents of New York City have a strange affinity for policies that bankrupt their city and endanger their streets.

Time and again, they have elected leaders who have failed to protect either their wallets or their safety—and yet they act shocked when the consequences materialize. These are the same voters who handed Bill de Blasio two terms in landslide victories, ignoring the steady decline in city services and the surge in crime. These are the same voters who cheered on Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, elevating her to Congress with rhetoric over results. These are the same voters who repeatedly returned Senator Chuck Schumer to office despite years of political stagnation. And who now presides over an unnecessary government shutdown to protect his Senate seat from being primaried by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

And yet, these are also the voters who loudly denounce leaders who actually made a difference.

Consider Rudy Giuliani: the man who took on the Mafia, cleaned up New York City, and restored a sense of order. Giuliani’s achievements in dismantling organized crime and improving public safety are repeatedly overshadowed by partisan attacks and historical revisionism. The city’s residents seem determined to ignore the lessons of his tenure, choosing sentiment over security.

So why should the GOP step in to “rescue” these voters from the chaos they themselves have embraced?

Should they support a politician like Andrew Cuomo, whose record is tarnished by corruption scandals and failed governance, simply because he bears a familiar party label? Compared to the political disasters New Yorkers have repeatedly voted for, Cuomo’s failings are glaring—but the city’s electorate often seems willing to overlook even that.

Enter Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, a man whose career has been devoted to protecting citizens, fighting crime, and restoring safety to the streets. In a city that has repeatedly elected incompetence and embraced policies that erode public safety, can Sliwa really be seen as the worst option? Compared to the serial failures of the political elite, Sliwa’s track record of grassroots action and crime-fighting commitment offers a stark contrast to the hollow promises of career politicians.

New Yorkers have made their choices, and the consequences are visible in every crime report, every budget deficit, and every failed policy initiative. If the GOP hopes to offer an alternative, it should highlight results over rhetoric—and perhaps remind voters that a city that once thrived under leaders like Giuliani can thrive again under those who prioritize action over ideology.

Bottom Line

Screw New York City and its cesspool of corruption and crime.

Republicans: Vote Republican and support Curtis Sliwa.
