Hunger Hijacked: How Hamas Steals Food from Gaza’s People

nyt-gaza-lie

It’s infuriating and unconscionable: the very food meant to sustain Gaza’s civilians is being stolen by Hamas itself. Shipments of life-saving aid arrive, and instead of reaching starving families, they are consumed or hoarded by Hamas operatives or sold on the black market. This isn’t an accident; it’s a deliberate, cynical act by a regime that treats its own people like pawns, human shields, and unwitting crisis actors in a propaganda nightmare.

Even the UN’s food distribution network is compromised, riddled with Hamas operatives who sabotage, redirect, or outright hijack critical supplies. What should be a lifeline becomes a tool for oppression, with ordinary Gazans paying the ultimate price.

And yet, Hamas continues to falsely blame Israel for shortages, claiming the “enemy” is withholding aid. The reality is staggering: Israel is feeding its adversary while simultaneously providing assistance to Gaza’s population, the first time in history a nation has done so under such wartime circumstances. Instead of gratitude, Hamas uses this aid as a weapon, while pointing fingers at those actually trying to help.

Hunger in Gaza isn’t just a humanitarian crisis; it’s a crime perpetrated from within, by those who claim to lead. While the world watches, the powerless are robbed of the basics of life. This is theft, corruption, and cruelty, wrapped in the guise of governance.

We are so screwed.
