On its face, Proposition 50, The Election Rigging Response Act, written by politicians for politicians, bypasses the existing congressional district maps through 2030 in favor of maps drawn by partisan special interests. The effect of this extraordinary attempt to circumvent the independent California Citizens Redistricting Commission to create five new legislative seats, not to benefit Californians, but to benefit the Democrats as a way to negate legitimate legislative actions in Texas.
This is being sold to Californians as a way to ostensibly counter Donald Trump’s scheme to rig next year’s congressional election – even though the actions taken in Texas were lawfully taken by the Texas State Legislature on behalf of Texans.
Once the existing maps are destroyed, California becomes a stronger uni-party state that cements its governance in the hands of those progressive communist democrats who have destroyed this formerly golden state and plundered the state treasury on behalf of the special interests. Corrupt special interests that gave us the high-speed trillion-dollar train to nowhere, a train that is neither high speed nor likely to pay for itself in a hundred years, when it will become obsolete junk, and the concrete turns to dust.
Historically, political power, once assumed by California politicians, has never been returned to the people.
This is a partisan political con and needs to be defeated.
We are so screwed.
